Malacca (Melaka), Malaysia @ 1 Day Trip
☺ Little FOOD Paradise ☺
Melaka is located on the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia facing the
Straits of Malacca, about 147 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, it took about 1 and
half hour to reach our destination!
Our first
stop is the famous chicken rice ball stall which named Chung Wah Chicken Rice
Ball, it is so famous even for the tourists abroad. The stall is located at the
start of Jonker Street which is at Jalan Hang Jebat in Melaka town. Since I
went there on weekends, there are very crowded and took me around 2 hours to
queue up for it.
The
chicken rice balls were moist, slightly sticky and the most flavourful of them
all. The chicken rice balls are hand-rolled, so the size of each rice balls is
not the same. We ordered the medium portion of poached chicken for 2 persons.
The poached chicken was so juicy and the soy-based dipping sauce was delicately
salty. This is an absolute must try food in Melaka!

Our next
stop is Christ Church which located next to the Stadthuys Complex, it is the
oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia and is placed within the
jurisdiction of the Lower Central Archdeaconry of the Anglican Diocese of West
Malaysia.
But first,
let us take a photo! But it was a bit blur :(
After
that, we went the Porta de Santiago which is nearby the Christ Church. It was
built by the Portuguse in 1512 under the command of Alfonso de Albuquerque, the
leader of the Portuguese army that seized Melaka in 1511.
After that,
we went to try out the famous durian puff in Melaka which named One Bite durian
puff. This is one of the must try food in Melaka for those durian lovers. 1
piece for RM 2 and 3 pieces for RM 5, we bought 6 pieces to share because we
are one of the durian loves.
It was morsel sized and we were told to eat it
in one bite so that the cream will not drip while you eat. And the seller told us we
have to eat the durian puffs right away after we bought it otherwise the cream
inside will start to melt. I would say that RM 10 for 6 pieces is not
too expensive because its quite filling and it was really packed with the
durian flesh.

Dinner
time! It was taking us a hard time to search for this famous alley because the
stall was so hidden. There were crowded as always and took us around 45 minutes
to get our table. They were selling boiled
cockles (Siham), calms (la la), prawns, cuttlefish with kang kong and ‘4
Treasure’ and so on. We ordered boiled cockles, cuttlefish with kang kong and
‘4 Treasure’.
RM 2 per
plate. The combination of their specially homemade sauce and boiled cockles is
really good. Thumbs up for this!
Cuttlefih
with kang kong (RM15/18). Delicious dish of cuttlefish mixed with kang kung in
sauce and flavourfully topped with grinded peanuts.
‘4
Teasure’ (RM15/18) this was really good! Beancurd skin, fried dough, fish cakes
and tofu are mixed in the ‘4 Treasure’.
