We have booked our
stay at Hotel Super 8. It’s located at Georgetown, Penang. Their customer
service are satisfactory through, I felt they were all helpful and try their
best to answer any enquiries. They also provided complimentary parking for
their in-house guest. The room was quite comfortable with a reasonable price
which is RM 189.99 per night.
After settle down,
we soon made our way to Lebuh Keng Kwee at Georgetown which is the stall called
Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul located, selling what many reviews named as
the best chendol in Penang. You can either choose to stand on the street to
have your bowl of cendol or order it into a coffee-shop which is nearby the
stall (middle of the street, same side as the stall) to enjoy your cendol in a
comfortably environment.
We also ordered the
Rojak which is selling at the same shop. The price of Rojak is between RM5 to
RM7, mango, pineapple, as well as crunchy turnip, cuttlefish, beansprouts and
dough fritters, all mixed in dark sweet sticky shrimp paste and topped with
some roasted peanuts and sesame seeds.

Breakfast were at Toh Soon Café which is famous for
its traditional Hainan coffee and toast. The uniqueness of Toh Soon’s toasts is
that they use a super old Charcoal stove to toast and steam the breads. This
keeps the traditional way of toasting business keep going for its specialty.
Finally, we managed to get our seats despite the crowds. Due to the crowds, the
expected delivery after ordered was approximately 20-30 minutes. We ordered the
toasted and steam breads with kaya & butter, half-boiled eggs and
traditional drinks including hot coffee and tea. Weekdays may be a
better option to avoid long queues and remember it is closed on every Sundays.

When evening falls,
we stopped over a food stall which named Mount Erskine Hainan Western to have
our dinner. A well-known location among the locals, this food stall serves
reasonable price and tasty western food. Located at the roadside along Mount
Erskine, this place is always crowded. Yea, let’s me introduce a couple of
delicious Hainan Western food to you.
Butter Garlic Pork
Chop which is only cost RM 8. The portion is relatively big, and most of all,
the fried garlic made the meal really crispy. Though it will be a little oily,
but it’s worth a try!
The Grilled Lamb
Chop is selling at price RM 12 for each. I felt the lamb was a little fatty but
it’s still worth for it/s price. The mint sauce was tasted unexpected good with
the combination of lamb!
Their mushroom soup
is a little different from most mushroom soup as it taste like butter. It
tastes really good and only RM 2.50 for each bowl.
