Short Getaway to Sekeping Serendah, Rawang
2 days before our short getaway, we went for grocery shopping because we have to bring our own food to Sekeping Serendah which is located at Rawang. Sekeping Serendah is not a resort and they do not provide meals so we have to prepare our own food before going there.
Sekeping Serendah
is a forest retreat located in Serendah, it took about one hour drive from
Kuala Lumpur city centre and we arrived at 1 something. I have been wanting to
visit this place long time ago because the concept surrounding it sounds very
tranquil.
It took us about
one hour to reach there. There are 5 different types of shed you can choose to
stay in Sekeping Serendah which is glass shed, mud shed, timber shed, warehouse
or glass box. We booked the warehouse because only warehouse can fit 10 of us.
The rate of per
night as shown below:
Notes:-
i) Public holidays surcharge of RM100 for each
shed.
ii) Extra persons charge at RM50 per person.
iii) Children above 7 years old to be charged as adult.
iii) Children above 7 years old to be charged as adult.
Everything was set ready by the retreat caretakers. Cups, spoons, plates, BBQ pit with hot charcoals all prepared.
In the warehouse, there had 2 rooms with total 3 double and 4 single beds which can fit 8 to 10 persons.
There are 2 bathrooms
in the warehouse, you have to bring your own towels and shower necessities
because none of it are provided.
After settled down,
we decided to go the swimming pool area. There are 2 swimming pools at the
retreat, not one! The first one is near the Glass Shed 2 (on map) and another
one is in front of Warehouse 2 (not on map but it is not hidden!). The two
swimming pools have different depths; the second one is considerably deeper.
We went to the
swimming pool which is near the Glass Shed 2.
For dinner, the
caretaker will prepare Indian cuisine for you upon request at the cost of RM2o
per meal / per pax. We decided to bring our own food instead as we prefer BBQ.
We informed the caretaker that we wanted to have our BBQ at 5:30 pm. So, at
5:30 pm, he came to help us set up.
Later that night,
we chit chat, gossips about others. It always feel good to chit chat with them
all night long. And we slept at around 3 am. It was raining in the midnight,
since there are no any windows and doors, you can bring jacket and your own
extra blanket because it was really cold in the midnight!
